Allied Sprinkler Company has been awarded the contract for a renovation project on the large median located between Via Andorra and Via Terrecaleta on Coto Drive. The project will consist of demo & grading, irrigation, soils prep and testing and replanting. The project is scheduled to begin Monday April 8^th..

SMWD is working with the landscape contractors updating all the reclaimed water information. All irrigation heads are tagged and identified and signs have been put in place.

Planning has begun for landscape replacement from the Oso right gate along South Bend Road to Phoenix Way. Plant material was damaged earlier this year due to heavy frost.

2008 storm drain program is being prioritized to support the 2008 budget request for this program.

Easthills/Oakmont Slope Renovation - The Acacia ground cover along Easthills has been removed because it was very old and woody. New plant material is being installed and will include Desert Carpet Acacia at the top, Pyracantha and Tecomaria in drifts along the middle to the bottom as well as extending drifts of Vinca and St. Johns Wort groundcovers. Similar renovations will take place in the older areas along Vista del Verde over the next 12-15 months.

Fuel Modification Clearing - The CZ Master and its landscape contractors continue to work with OCFA on clearing of the fuel mod areas.

Mulching within the community will continue throughout the year. Approximately 3,000 yards of mulch has been installed this year. Coto Drive and South Bend are areas impacted the most. Construction of the hardscape in the center median pockets is underway on Coto de Caza Drive and will continue throughout most of 2007. The old irrigation heads and layout formation will be updated to reduce the overspray along Coto Drive. This project will begin in 2007.
